K.V. Marine Exports is one of the leading seafood exporting units from India. We exports fresh and quality Shrimps & Fishes at a competitive pricing. The company has its own raw material collection centers at all the coastal line of Tamil Nadu and Nellore (coastal area of Andhra Pradesh at Tamil Nadu border) for sea materials as well as for farm raised shrimps. By having 10 insulated own trucks, raw material can be reached in the processing plant in safe and good condition. The company’s processing unit is situated at Padur Village, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The motto of the company is to produce quality material at the satisfaction of our worldwide customers. We have 2 brands (Trade Mark) - “KVM GOLD” for HL Black Tiger & “KVM” for all other types of Shrimps & Fishes. We are already in the export market with almost all buyers in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, U.K and Middle East. Led By Mr. K.V. Viswa Mohanan (K.V.V. Mohanan), the chief executive of the company is also the managing director of M/S. KVM Exports Private Limited. Mr. Mohanan is in this industry for more than three decades, which has enabled him efficient enough to take the company to a respectable position within a short span of time. Strong Infrastructure We have well equipped infrastructure that includes three generators (125KVA, 160KVA & 250KVA) for continuous power supply. Our processing unit is spread over a large area of about 4000 sq.ft with 15 tables, which accommodate 100 employees. Two flake ice machines, which provide 20 tons of ice per day along with 4 tons of block ice plant to process and store the material in good condition. Workers rest room, carton room, concrete road in and around the surroundings are available. There are 4 water storage tanks to get continuous supply of water. The treated water (through fresh water Reverse Osmosis Plant) is supplied to the processing as well as pre-processing units. 3000 sq.ft pre-processing area with 10 tables adjacent to the processing hall. 3 nos. of Plate Freezers, 5 tons capacity of each is available for quick freezing of the processed raw material. A 3 tons capacity Blast Freezer is also available. In addition to the above facilities, a second pre-processing unit about 2000 sq.ft area with 6 tons capacity of chill room is also available. We have got 4 Cold Storages, where we can store about 500 tons of finished products. Our company is an EU approved unit as well as US FDA approved unit. Processing Description Raw shrimps are brought from different centers in plastic crates properly iced by the insulated vehicles. They are received in the receiving area of preprocessing hall. Each box is deiced and material is carefully washed in less than 2 ppm, chlorinated water and weighed. These processes will be completed in the morning around 8 am. (Since we are receiving the raw material usually in the morning around 5 to 6 am, the receiving and weighing of raw material shall be completed around 8 am). After the completion of raw material receiving and weighing, the material is stored with ice in the insulated containers by carrying them in tightly closed boxes from raw material receiving area to chill room. The pre-processing work will be starting after the completion of receiving, weighing and storing of raw material in chill room completely. There will be no pre-processing work during the time of receiving, weighing and storing of raw materials in chill room. Then the material is supplied to pre-processing area without any delay. The material is deheaded (HL), Peeled and Undeveined (PUD), or Peeled and Deveined (PD) as per the requirement. The preprocessed material are washed thoroughly with less than 2ppm of chlorinated water and iced in layer method and sent to processing establishment in closed boxes with the help of insulated vehicle. Then the pre-processed material will be receiving through chute. The distance between additional pre-processing and processing hall is around 70 foot. The material flow from pre-processing to processing will be smooth and supply will match adequately according to the grading table needs. There will be no stock of pre-processed materials in the chill room unless an unfavorable situation arises. (May due to the break down of freezers); then the pre-processed material will be stored in the chill room of the processing section. After grading, graded materials are kept in boxes with sufficient ice. Then the material is deiced in with less than 2 ppm chlorinated water. The material is then weighed as required (either 2 kgs or 1.8kgs) and taken for setting in pans. The pieces of shrimps are neatly and closely arranged to make individual blocks. The glaze water in +2°c is poured in to pan and sent for freezing in contact plate freezers. After freezing, the individual frozen blocks are placed in polythene cover and baby cartons and then packed in master cartons. Then packed master cartons are stored in a cold storage at or below minus 18° centigrade till shipment is made through refrigerated containers. The above work is executed by a team of experience workers under the direct supervision of Factory Manager, Production Manager and Manager Quality Control. Quality Control This section is taking care of all quality parameters, testing, inspection and monitoring. The effective HACCP system implementation is the function of quality control. They take care of feedback and complaints if any from the buyers. Production Section Production section will satisfy all the needs of HACCP requirement. All the staff will follow and implement the GMP’S and SSOP’S. Plant Maintenance Sanitary and hygiene section takes responsibility of maintaining the plant following the cleaning schedules, maintaining the house keeping section. Over all sanitation and hygiene practices are the function of this section. Machinery section Machinery section will take care of that all the equipments are maintained in such a way there is no breakdown. Calibration of gauges, regular maintenance of machineries, maintaining correct temperature, and avoiding cross contamination are the areas of attention by machinery section.
